The Cleveland High School PTA plays an important role in Cleveland. In addition to providing funding to various departments, the fantastic volunteers that make up the CHS PTA are also proud stewards of many programs and events at Cleveland High School.

As we settle into our new traditions, we would like to share with you our current ROADMAP. Here is our 2022-2023 General Meetings Schedule followed by our listings of active Events and Programs. Thank you to all the CHS PTA Volunteers who make all this possible.

Please take a look at some of our recurring projects. We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to help manage these engaging activities.

  • CHS PTA Brats and Brews Social Event / Fundraiser. (Volunteers needed)
    Sunday, October 16th, 2022. This is both a fundraiser and a Meet-and-Greet gathering.
    Volunteers are needed to help with some planning, but mostly day-of-event setup. Sell tickets. Text for donations.

    Come join your fellow parents for our annual adults-only gathering to kick off the school year. Enjoy a sausage and a cold beverage while hanging out with old friends, meeting new friends and getting to know PTA and Foundation leadership as well as some of our school administrators.

    Your $30 ticket, available for purchase here, will include a sausage, sides, and cold beer or wine. Vegan and non-alcoholic options also available. A huge thanks to our beer sponsor: Unicorn Brewing (CHS parent and former PPS teacher Zach). We have a NEW returning sponsor for Brats n Brews, Helioterra Wines, CHS parent, Anne Hubatch - will be providing wines for the event.

    Every school day. 1-hr shifts. Cleveland High School needs your help with traffic control and safety. Volunteer with the CHS PTA to help manage the comings and goings of students and visitors each morning. This volunteer opportunity is vital in keeping Cleveland's campus safe and secure.

  • CHS PPS Project Community Care Clean-Up w Weekend Warriors.

    Sat, August 28, 2021.  This is a PPS Sponsored event.​​ Project Community Care is an annual tradition where community volunteers come out to schools and help clean up the school grounds prior to the first day of school.

    PPS delivered a tremendous pile of mulch for the grounds and that’s it. Weekend Warriors volunteers planted new foliage in containers, spread the mulch, weeded, cleaned trash, and used up two leaf blowers.

    This is a fun casual BBQ lunch for the staff of Cleveland. CHS PTA Board Members will engage in conversation while serving them lunch.

  • PTA Leadership Training
    September 11, 2021, or October 9, 2021. 9:00am-3:15pm. ZOOM.
    To keep our "UNIT IN GOOD STANDING" requirement, we must have three "3" leaders trained each year. There is no limit to how many of our board officers can attend. Attending one full training session will count towards our training credit requirements for our Unit In Good Standing certification.

  • CHS PTA Teacher Grants, Open
    September 13 - October 08, 2021.  The funds we distribute come from the proceeds of the annual Cleveland auction and other generous donations from Cleveland High School families and area businesses.

  • CHS PTA Unit-In-Good-Standing
    November 30, 2021. Oregon PTA Bylaws require local PTAs to submit documents each year in order to be in compliance with the Oregon Department of Justice, Internal Revenue Service, and your liability insurance carrier.

    Failure to accomplish these tasks will make the PTA INACTIVE and possibly DECERTIFIED.

  • Year-End Appeal Mailing Fundraiser
    December. Joint fundraiser with CHS Foundation. Two Postcard Mailings to parents at the end of the year. Approx $800 for mailing.

  • CHS PTA GRANTS: Applications Open
    $3,000 Student Clubs Grant / $3,000 Affinity Groups Grant
    January - February. Application Deadline Feb 11, 2022.
    The application deadline is AFTER the clubs have officially organized.

  • Senior Graduation Party & Fundraising
    January. Start planning. 2022 Senior class size approx 400 students.

  • APPLY FOR NIKE COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANT
    Early January. “In Portland, Ore., our World Headquarters’ backyard, employees will award one-year grants, ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 each, to local organizations that make a positive impact through play, sport and other community-based initiatives across the metro area.”

  • CHS Athletic Hall of Fame Induction. (4 Volunteers needed)
    February 4, 2022. The time needed is 1-1/2-hours. Location: CHS Gym.

  • PTA “National Counselors Appreciation Week” Breakfast 
    (Volunteers needed)
    February 7-11, 2022. A continental-style breakfast spread for the 12 CHS Counselors. Create digital invitations and print Thank You cards.

  • PTA Clothing Center (5-6 Volunteers needed)
