Advocacy Day at CHS

On Wednesday, May 18th, CARE Student Leadership is holding an Advocacy event at Cleveland High School.

Following the incident that happened at Cleveland High School post-spring break, there was a call to make a serious commitment to our minority students and improve the school culture at Cleveland.

C.A.R.E. Leadership in partnership with CHS Administration wanted to make an event that would connect our community with advocacy organizations. We as a community can make a difference, and promote positive change both in our schools, and our broader community.

Advocacy Day will go from 6 pm-8 pm and will be held at Cleveland High School.

Local advocacy organizations such as the CHS PTA, NAACP, Cleveland Parent Equity Group, Oregon Student Voice, and Sunrise PDX will be present.

All are welcome! Students, Parents, and Community Members!

2022 Spring Fundraiser: CHS Celebrates Creativity and Innovation.

SUPPORT CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION AT CLEVELAND HIGH SCHOOL.

On April 21, 2022, parents, teachers, alumni, and friends come together to celebrate “Creativity and Innovation” at Cleveland High School’s Spring Fundraising event, our single most important fundraiser. The money raised at this event helps Cleveland support programs and teaching positions that are not fully funded within tight state budgets.

Thanks to the contributions of local businesses and individual donors, we continue to raise money despite the many obstacles we’ve all seen in the last two years.

Your contributions allow the CHS PTA to provide funding for all sorts of departments and projects at Cleveland. Programs like the Student Clubs Grants, Affinity Group Grants, Teacher Grants, Principals Discretionary Fund, Restorative Justice, lab and technology equipment, tools, books, art supplies, musical instruments, lecture tables, the Rose Princes Crown, start-up costs for Commerce Coffee, basic classroom supplies and much much more.

In addition, your contributions to the Foundation make it possible to support a percentage of the teacher salaries that allows us to keep class sizes smaller. Dollars raised also provided additional support to our elective programs, which now feature advanced culinary arts, graphic arts, computer programming, woodworking and construction, and digital media. Cleveland is proud to continue to offer four world languages (French, German, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish), as well as our International Baccalaureate program.

Your financial support means more resources in the classroom and more teachers to instruct our students. Cleveland succeeds because of community partners like you!

Thank you again for your commitment to Cleveland High School and for your donation to both the CHS PTA and Foundation!
